I have heard so many horror stories like yours and it is truly heart-breaking. I wonder if non-dog lovers (hard to believe there's such a thing) see them as packages on planes. :`( I loved the picture of River resting peacefully next to Jazz! They are currently viewing video tape of the warehouse and checking all written records to see exactly what happened. There is a chance he flew to Atlanta on his original flight, but was sent back to Baltimore, then had to return to Atlanta on that evening flight. The regional investigator for Delta was 'out of town' but hopefully we will have more information by weeks end. We are so glad you, Jazz, and River are fine. Bill & I drive to the far reaches of Washington State and back, from Houston, every summer and we would like to stop the 2600 mile drive twice a year but we worry about shipping our poodles. Ariel will be 8 in August and I think it would be even harder for her than for Leif, who will be 3 in September, so we keep driving (8-10 days/summer) - and thinking about flying with them in cargo. In the past we felt pretty good about Continental's care for animals but we worry since them merged with United. We plan to drive again this summer. You and Keith are wonderful - I could not have matched your composure or Keith's people skills in that situation. Lene Oh Becky! We are so glad you, Jazz, and River are fine.

What a nightmare. That is exactly why I drove all the way from Palm Springs and back to pick up Zane. My friends thought I was crazy, but living in dog training world I have heard too many stories like River's. I know most pets fly safely, but I would be the one with a probelm! Zane seems to have the same accepting and forgiving nature as his dad. And he sleeps on the couch just like River. They really look so similar. So glad all is at peace with the world again. OMG. My mom,Deedee, bought a poodle from you a few years ago:) we named her Reagen, after the president, because she was born on presidents day:) I dont even remeber what it was like without little Reagen! She is so much fun and she loves to help around the house! she will just follow me wherever i go and she just lays down and watches me do whatever it is im doing:) me and my mom keep talking about training her to be a tharapy dog when she is older! she loves everyone and she is soo smart! Thank you so much for letting us adopt her!!! have fun in hawaii!!!!:) Hi Becky!
