Life With Poodles

Thanksgiving

I’m on Facebook, as most people are these days.  Right now the trend is to post ‘what you are thankful for” as your status update.  While this is great, why not take things and reverse this idea.  Why not give people something to be thankful for?

I always try to give people more than they expect.  Not only does it make me feel good, but it makes their life easier.  It is a win / win for everyone involved.  As an example, last week I doggy sat Lincoln.  His owners had to go to a wedding.  Their son was ‘asked’ to be in the wedding.  I’ve been there, done that myself, one of those last minute request that your kids please please please be in this wedding, it means the world to ‘insert family member’.  Lincoln’s parents had to fly all the way to NY, attend a wedding that is mid week and thus also lose a week of work.  What could I do, besides watch their dog, to help?  I decided I would send Lincoln home freshly groom.  He left our home bathed, hand blow dried, with his face, feet, tail, belly all shaved.  His top knot was trimmed out of his eyes, his tail and leg poms evened up.  It wasn’t a full groom, but he did look pretty nice.  I saved them a trip to the groom right near the holidays.  They now have a nice looking pup to show off over the holidays.

My nose is so smooth! Maybe I need a hot date tonight?

Lincoln right before his parents came to pick him up.

So, take some time to think about what you can do to make your family and friends life a little easier this season.  Leave the drama behind… bring only your grace to the table.
