Zelda x River litter update: How many puppies?

Yesterday, Zelda and her litter mates turned 4 years old!!  She got to celebrate with a few extra cookies, some raw eggs and yogurt!  YUM!

Today was Zelda’s “Spa Day” and pre-birth photo shoot.  She was a real breeze to groom, though she was getting tired of all the standing for the leg scissoring.  You can see the best photos at the end of this post.

We have just returned from the vet.  The ultrasound showed us 5 babies for sure, with one or more ‘maybe’  hiding up under the ribs.  It was just to hard to see clearly and she was really getting tired of the procedure.   The puppies looked healthy, happy, and not to large or small.  We have the emergency number for the vet and they assured us they could handle any issue that might arise.
