We are excited to announce the birth of our second and last litter for 2012. The much anticipated litter between Georgie & River is now here! This litter has been whelped at Georgie and River’s mom’s home in Arkansas. Courtney and her friend Sarah (a human Doula) did an exceptional job yesterday helping these little angels into the world.
Here is the email from Courtney:
Hey Becky,Here is the puppy info#1 Girl 7.75oz#2 Boy 9.5oz (tiny milk chin)#3 Boy 8.75oz#4 Boy 9 oz#5 Girl 7.5 oz#6 Girl 9 oz#7 Boy 7.75 ozA few of the pups have a little white under the paws. My kids have come up with names. Having boys in the house you can imagine the challenge we had coming up with names and letting them feel included. They had some interesting ones. 🙂 They’ve compromised and five of the pups are names of lego ninja characters. hahaha! Yes, BOYS!Boy names: Cole, Kai (pronounced Kye), Jay, and Zane. (Just be glad there wasn’t a 5th boy…Connor was convinced his name would be Sensei Wu. lol!Girl names: Nia, Piper, and HazelOf course let me know if these won’t work. The kids are going to decide tomorrow who gets what name.Sarah took some pics, she’s going to try and tweak the color tonight and we will get those emailed to you. I know how everyone loves the puppy updates, so we will try and send you as many pics and info as possible. Let me know if there’s anything else you need. Thanks so much for entrusting me with your puppies. It is an incredible experience. I really appreciate this opportunity and I want to help these pups have the best possible start. They are a special group of pups. 🙂 ~~~Courtney
Becky,
What a joy to witness the birth of the pups today! It was so exciting. I have been to countless births…but I think I cried more at this one…lol.
I posted pics on Facebook. I think you can right click them and save them so you can post them on your blog. If not, let me know and I will send the files. They are large files and I don’t want to clog your inbox.
So excited to meet you in the coming weeks! ~~Sarah
I should know by the end of the week availability. Right now I have 5 people confirmed as interested in this litter, and I am waiting on two homes to reply to my request for a deposit.
Both River and Georgie are now fostered by Courtney and her family in Northwest Arkansas. She has put some titles on her poodles in order to help show the great temperament her dogs have and is active in Therapy with her dogs. I will not place my dogs in homes that keep their dogs outside in a kennel, so people like Courtney are extremely important to my breeding program. A great foster home is worth their weight in gold! Courtney has been supporting my breeding program for almost 10 years. Georgie is a granddaughter of my beloved Merlot and is also a 3rd generation Therapy dog.
This litter will be suitable for competition, therapy, and beloved pets. Both parents are extremely stable dogs with great typical poodle temperaments. Georgie is a large female and River is a mid size male (slightly smaller than Georgie). Puppies should mature 50-65lbs and be 24-27 inches tall.

PEDIGREE FOR GEORGIE X RIVER LITTER
These two should produce a nice mix of working dogs and pets.
The average Coefficient of Inbreeding for a Standard Poodle is 15%. This litter is 2.02%. The lower the number, the lower the inbreeding.
Genetic information for Test breeding GerogiexRiver from PoodlePedigree.com website:
The COI (Coefficient of Inbreeding) is calculated up to a maximum of 12 generations. The COI is calculated entirely from the pedigree information present in the database, so if there are inaccuracies in the pedigree, there will also be inaccuracies in the COI. I try to run the COI every Friday. If there is an error on Friday that means I will have to correct the error and rerun the coi on Saturday. For information on what the COI figure means, see http://www.canine-genetics.com/relation.htm, particularly where it discusses the inbreeding coefficient. For a more complete discussion of genetic principles, visit the Canine Diversity Project.

I will have very sweet dreams tonight! So happy Georgie is doing well and her puppies are all happy and healthy. Enjoyed the pictures and we’re all smiling from ear to ear!!! 😀
So glad to see They’re all well! Thoroughly enjoyed these pictures!
Oh, the happy flashbacks I am having! Great pictures – leave it to a poodle mama to look dignified and regal after giving birth!
They’re so little! I was looking at Radar’s baby pictures last night, and thinking about how weird it was watching him grow so quickly in just a matter of weeks through pictures, and then to hold him in my arms for the first time, and then ahead to now, where I have this big ol’ guy who’s my height if he puts his paws on my shoulders. Hard to believe those lsleek little balls of fur are going to be grown up dogs one day. 🙂
I just have to say, I get so excited to read everyone’s comments about their upcoming puppy. I keep looking for a “like” button for your comments. Summer, I keep thinking the same thing. I can’t believe these fat little runts are going to be someone’s new best friend. It’s just so sweet and so exciting. I will try to keep Becky supplied with pictures because lets face it, that’s what we all really want, new puppy pictures. I loved watching Zelda’s babies grow. Anyways, I’m just so excited for each of you to get to have your new baby, and we are taking very good care of them so that they will be ready for you. I can’t wait to watch their little personalities develop. 🙂
I am sitting here with a lump in my throat just knowing one of these little creatures will be joining our lives soon. The birth of another therapy dog in the making. Another furry friend that will change lives so dramatically. Elvira (Georgie’s aunt) and our beloved Merlin (06/2005 – 11/20011)have sure changed mine as well. Cannot wait until we can meet our new little hero.
Now you made me cry, Sherri. I’m so happy for you. I know there’s the perfect pup for you in this litter. Georgie and River are two of the sweetest, cuddliest dogs I know. They both think they are lap dogs. 🙂
Lots of squeals coming from our house! We are so excited!!! Way to go Georgie!
I am so excited for each family that will be blessed to have one of Georgie and River’s pups. These are two of the sweetest dogs I have ever been blessed to love. Already, being around these puppies, you can sense their sweet dispositions. Courtney and I were talking about how excited each of you must be to sneak a peak at your soon-to-be pups. We decided we do our best to keep you updated with pics/videos while they are in Courtney’s care. We plan to have a photo shoot tomorrow, so stay tuned!
