What I love most about puppies is every day you can teach them something new, show them how much fun it is to attempt new things.  Building a puppy into a confident and stable adult is one of my life joys.

Share a bit in my joy as Jay visits the river for the first time.  He has never been in water with current, so I was thrilled and proud of my little man as he took on the challenge with little encouragement from me.  What a puppy he is!

The longer he stays, the harder it is for me to consider finding him a home.  If he wasn’t related to every dog I own, with the exception of Mocha, I would absolutely keep him in a heartbeat.  I’m still toying with the idea, but also open to placing him with the right person who will continue his education in life.  He has a love for life, people, and kids.

Jay was the most pushy puppy in the litter and one of the more dominant scored pups on his aptitude test.  I decided it would be best to keep him and evaluate him before seriously opening him up for placement.  I have found Jay extremely easy to correct.  He is enthusiastic but he is also soft and I am easily able to channel his energy.  Today he sat (wiggled a lot but sat!) for no less than 20 different children and adults to pet him at the park near the river.  He also interacted appropriately with 2 dogs and a herd of goats!  Near the end of the morning he understood he must sit and be as still as possible and was doing his puppy best to make me proud.  That is what makes him so special.  A true poodle, ever eager to please and follow the rules.  Jay is crate trained, rides happily in the car with no sickness, is doing great on his basic obedience, sleeps through the night with no issues, and pee’s on command.  He is still a very young puppy but I think he is very mature for his age.  He is calm, independent, yet very loving.   If you think your home might be a place where this boy can shine, please email and we can talk more.  His adoption fee is $1500.oo

Here is another blog post with some videos of Jay and more information about his parents and their health testing.
