Life With Poodles

Billie comes to Anutta! Puppies????

by | Sep 20, 2015 | Uncategorized | 3 comments

I was on the road all day yesterday and arrived back home with a new face!   We have visitor here at Anutta!  Her name is Billie and she is a doll.  Billie is one of the Tintlet girls and is officially known as UKC CH Tintlet Lady Sings the Blues.   She is 4 years old, inky black, and extremely calm.  Billie is the full sister to Corey, who sired our last litter.   Why is she here?  Well, funny you should ask.  Gloria’s life is a bit overburdened right now with caring for Howard, the dogs, and running the grooming shop.  Her daughter Kelsey is helping a ton, but with Howard popping in and out of the hospital, she simply can’t whelp and raise puppies at this time.

Puppies??  Yep, that is what I said.  Billie is 4 years old.  Her biological clock is ticking.  We like her girls to retire from breeding at around 5 years of age.  Billie is lovely, she has a lot to offer the poodle world.  Her first and only litter was fabulous, a great group of sweet babies.  Gloria really does not want to spay this top quality girl without breeding her one more time.

With all this information, I raised my hand with a suggestion.  I told Gloria if Billie came into season before November and if she could find a stud she loved to bred Billie with, I would have the time to whelp, raise, and place the litter for her.  She will keep one or two of the pups to grow up for the next generation of Tintlet stars and I will make sure the remainder get amazing homes.   My time table is tight.  We know we are moving next summer, which would make helping Gloria next year impossible.  We do not know where we will be moving.  We are hoping to go back to San Antonio, but that information will not be available until December.  That means, I am not going to breed Jazz until after I find out exactly where we are moving.  If, for example, they send us to Hawaii… a puppy from Jazz’s litter might not be old enough to have the correct vaccination to avoid quarantine.  I don’t want to risk that happening, so I am going to wait to breed Jazz until I know what is happening as far as our move.  Because I am not going to breed Jazz, that opened me up to help Gloria.  With our upcoming move next summer, my window to help was extremely small.  I need the pups all out of the house by February, so we can go ‘house hunting’ in March during the kids spring break, with us planning the move in May / June.  We will need to list our house and having a ton of puppies when trying to rent or sell a home is impossible.

Last month Billie came into season, so Gloria gave me a call and asked if we were still up for doing this joint venture.  I said yes!  Gloria transported her girl up to Natalie in IL to be bred to Cash (AKC CH Aris Man In Black for Natalie) and yesterday I made the drive up to get her because she is out of season.  We expect puppies to be born the first week in November!  The sire is a dominant black so only black pups will be born, some might have small white markings.

All pups will be placed on Limited AKC registration.

Price:  $1600.00

I will be taking a limited number of pre-birth deposits.  EMAIL ME for an application or send me a reminder email if you have already filled out an application and are interested in a puppy from these two beautiful dogs.

DAM OF LITTER:  UKC CH TINTLET LADY SINGS THE BLUES

Billie has been here for less than a day, but she is already adapted to my pack.  I thought maybe I would have some issues with her and Jazz, but I had nothing to worry about.  Billie is calm, confident, and easy going with the other dogs.  She is currently napping on the couch here in the computer room, right next to Lina.  I’ll be posting some video of her later this week so you can see a little of her temperament.

SIRE OF LITTER:  AKC CH ARIS MAN IN BLACK FOR NATALIE

I was able to meet this boy yesterday while I was at Natalie’s home.  What a sweet boy and man can he move!  He is a “smiler” like my Merlot, so we could end up with a lot of smiling pups!  I have a soft spot for the dogs who smile!!

Poodle Data COI information for this litter

Genetic information for Test115 BXCash

The COI (Coefficient of Inbreeding) is calculated up to a maximum of 12 generations. However, if a generation is found where fewer than 75% of the dogs in that generation are known, the calculation stops just short of that generation. So if all dogs are known in the 5th generation but only half of them are known in the 6th generation, a 5-generation COI will be calculated. For dogs with more than 10 generations of pedigree information available, a 10-generation COI is also calculated for comparison and statistical purposes.

The COI is calculated entirely from the pedigree information present in the database, so if there are inaccuracies in the pedigree, there will also be inaccuracies in the COI. I try to run the COI every Saturday. The calculations take about 14 hours to run.

10-generation COI 2.94%
12-generation COI 5.51%
