I have some exciting news! Keith was informed that we are NOT moving in 2016! I repeat, we are staying in Huntsville, AL until summer of 2017! This is so awesome! Also, we found out where we will be moving in 2017! As we hoped, we will be moving back to San Antonio, TX next summer and will remain there until Keith’s retirement from the US Army in July, 2019! There is a light at the end of the tunnel and unless something changes we have a plan for the next few years.
What does this mean for us here at Anutta? It means I can move forward with some planned breedings for later this year. It also means I can plan my foster homes for the next two litters. Where might those foster homes be? I will be seeking qualified foster families within a few hours drive of San Antonio, TX. Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston, maybe even Dallas are all options. If you live in these areas and wish to support my breeding program by keeping a puppy intact for future breeding, contact me! I will be having at least one litter, maybe two litters this year. Please note, I do require the foster family either allow me to show the puppy or be able to show the foster pup in some sort of performance sport or UKC conformation. Titles are required for all breeding dogs. If you are not interested in showing and are not close enough to San Antonio for me to train and show the dog for you, I will likely not select your home. You can read about the foster program on my main website. The reason I am limiting foster families to TX is because I will be there to help support you before your pup reaches a year of age. The pup will be old enough to have one litter before I leave and there will not be much travel required for the dog or myself with me living right in the same area. We have no idea where we are going to retire, that depends on the job offers Keith has in 3 years. With that in mind, I’m doing what I can to get a girl fostered in a location where I know we will be. Complicated… but that is our life.
Jazz will be bred during her next cycle. I have a lovely boy picked out who isn’t to far away. I’ll give details on that litter later this week. It will be a little higher drive than either of the two Ziva litters or the litter from Billie. Jazz is super sweet, but she is a more active girl. I’m breeding to a performance titled boy, so he isn’t a couch potato either. I’m guessing these guys will be perfect for active families, or those seeking hunting or agility dogs. They won’t be hyper dogs, but they will want to get out and do something. If you want a fun dog that can do anything, this might be your litter! Of course, they will be Standard Poodles, so even if they are active they will be calm in the house, but they might need a little more activity than the pups I had from Billie. They are going to be super fun pups! Watch the blog for more information.
That is my update for the day! I know a lot of you have been eagerly awaiting this news! Let the puppy planning begin!

Hi Becky! Dee Duffy here. I originally contacted you about 6 – 8 months ago. At the time I had two black Standards and was beginning my search for a third – preferably over a year old. You had told me of your move back here to San Antonio. Since then, I lost Scout.. He had a cancer mass and just didn’t live as long as I had hoped for. In the same week I lost my sweet boy, I did gain a n and white. Party Poodle from Michigan. Her name is Sierra and she was a little over two months old when she joined our family. Scout did get to meet her. I was hoping she would inspire him since he was always the more playful one. What I was hoping for – and achieved wS a friend for Rascal. He amen to me with separation anxiety and with S out. Sing his brother I knew I needed a buddy for Rascal to help transition him. It worked!! I. Ever had to resort to anti-depressants for him. Yes, he had down days but this sweet angel just loved him through it. In return he has taught Sierra to play ball, walk behind me down the hall, to go lay Dow when I’m cooking in the kitchen, and more.
Becky I am excited about your move to SATX !! I would love to work towards being a candidate for fostering and possibly showing your pups. Rascal is 10 now and I’m not sure ha I g more than one puppy at 65 is fair to them if anything were to happen to me. It’s tough having to think but it is realistic. My daughter has four dogs and a managery of other critters. She graduated as a vet tech when she we lived in VA. We are animal people. I was actively involved with Wild Life Rescue there as I had my own business and could transport any time of day.
Before I end up telling my life story, and plan to for possibly 10 more years. I am active and need to stay that way. This would be a fun way to do it!
Let me know your thoughts.
Best Regards,
Dee
