I’m cutting my losses, or at least my Poodle’s hair.  🙂  I’m on the mad hunt for time and this is a major time saver.  Wash and wear here we come!

On a good note, it is nice to see what they look like under all that hair and see how they are doing as they mature.  For those who don’t know, this is Jazz and she is still a looker at 6 years of age.  If you would like a quick conformation lesson, keep reading and I will walk you through what you are seeing.

Jazz has a nice chest, good upper arm and shoulders with correct layback, good rear angles without being over done.  She has a flat top line, square body ratio, nice length of neck, pretty color, great pigment to her skin, a sweet face, nice ear set, pretty feet (if you could see them) and she stands square with her feet facing perfectly forward.  Her faults are she has a slightly lower than ideal croup (a dip down from her back to her tail) and a gay tail when she has it up.  Her tail is down in this photo.  She has a round eye and her ear length does not reach the tip of her nose as it should.  Lastly, her under coat texture is soft like cotton, very typical of light blues / silvers.  This means she tends to mat more than most Poodles, and her coat is not as water proof.  She can run a little thin, because she is very active, but right now her weight is perfect.   That is about it in my mind.  Dogs don’t walk on their tails, ears, or eyes, so those don’t bother me much.  Really her biggest fault for a working dog would be her coat not being waterproof.

When you look at Jazz you see nothing but a stunning Standard Poodle.  She is a very beautiful girly!
