I didn’t get much sleep last night.  Between the aptitude testing and the change of environment the pups slept most of the day.  That translated into “OH WOW, I’m all rested it is time to PLAY!!!” at about 10:30 pm when I was getting ready to go to bed.  It isn’t safe to leave the dog door open at night and the pups unattended, so I put on my breeder hat and sat outside with the babies for a good hour until they were worn out from late night games.  Keith has to get up at around 4:30 AM every weekday to arrive at work before morning report at the hospital.  Normally this means I can go back to sleep until the kids need to be roused at 6:30 AM for school.  However… the puppies do not know the difference between Keith heading to work and “Oh wow, it’s time to get up and eat some breakfast!!”  Again, I can’t leave the babies outside unattended, so my day was started with only a few hours sleep.  I’m sure we will get a system worked out in a few days, and this is good practice for when Jazz has her brood.  I’m already seeing I might be better off putting the puppy pen in a different location with a dog door installed in the window, so I can access my sliding door.

In any case, here are some photos I took yesterday and edited last night.  These babies are super sweet.  I need to get some brighter collar colors so I can see them easily when I take the photos.  Kerry went with all muted ‘military’ type colors, but wow it is hard to see them on the dark pups.

As far as puppy adult colors, none of the dark boys will be silver.  We might get a blue or two, but right now they are all very dark.

Some training will happen later today.  I’m pretty exhausted, so I probably will not video the session.  I need to give Sherri a better idea on how several of the pups learn, so she can make her decision to take a puppy from this litter or wait for a future baby.
