Life With Poodles

Pup update and Lina information

Hello everyone.  Well, we made it though one week of Jazz pups.  Sadly, we lost little Crash, the tiny male.  🙁  All the other pups are doing great and thriving.  The tiny female has doubled in size and is such a little doll.  I think she will make it.  An email has been sent to the top applications for this litter.  If anyone decides to wait for a future litter I will contact more homes on my waiting list.

Now, about Lina.  The kids and I have talked long and hard about what being a breeder means.  They love having pups, and I told them if we are to continue to have pups we cannot keep every spayed and neutered dog in our home.  I hope to add in a few Mini Poodles to start a line of smaller Poodles soon.  We are either breeders or pet owners, we can’t be both to all dogs without becoming hoarders.  Being a breeder means responsibility in the number of dogs we keep and making sacrifices to reach that end.  Fostering dogs does help, but not every dog is fostered.  I like to show my own dogs from time to time as well.  Letting a dog go to a new home is sometime needed and the best option for the dog.  I do not want to have so many dogs we can’t travel or live a normal life.  It isn’t in the best interest of the dogs.

With that said, the kids and I have agreed to see if someone might want to adopt Lina.  She is a wonderful dog and will make an amazing pet for someone.  I am only placing her local, just in case she doesn’t work in the new home.  This means San Antonio or Austin area homes only.  She is house trained, leash trained, crate trained, fully obedience trained with titles.  She is super sweet, spayed, and only weighs 10 pounds, so an ideal urban hound if that is your need.  Lina is great for grooming, with no attitude.  She is ok with other dogs… but she is a pushy Mini who likes to get her way.   I will consider placing her with someone who has a super laid back, easy going male dog in their home.  A home check is a must.  I will visit your home and see if it might work.  A test run will be required to see how she does.  Lina likes to sleep in the bed with you and she will get on furniture.  If this is a problem, don’t even contact me.

I’m not in a hurry to find her a home.  This is more of a ‘hey, if someone awesome wants an awesome dog, contact me.”  Otherwise, she will stay here until that awesome home comes along.
