Ok, I’ve been a bit behind on photos and videos.  We had family visiting over the weekend and then Halloween showed up on me.  Our family tradition is to dress up as a group, and I often make all the costumes.  Anyway, trying to get back on track now that things are back to normal.  I took some video today, because I had my phone with me when Jazz and I were feeding babies.  I say Jazz and I.  She did the feeding, but I was there for moral support.  She will stay in there all day long if I hang with her.  Here is a video of a little bit of nursing, a little bit of crying, and a who lot of cuteness!

Puppy color key:  Blare, Bray, Buzz, Chime, Fizz, Jingle, Rustle, Snap, Sizzle, Swish, Tap, Whisper

I’ve learned the collar colors!  The photos I took helped me more than anything.  Editing them and putting the names on the photos was the key.  I could remember which background was behind each name.  Let’s here it for my photography hobby helping me out!

DNA sample were taken today of the girls.  I have had the test kits for a week, but it seems like every time I remembered to do it, the timing was off.   The pups should not nurse for a few hours prior to gathering the cheek cells, and it is best to get them after a nice long nap to decrease cross contamination.  Every time I would remember to get the samples, we had just finished feeding them or they were all up screaming for MILK NOW!   Still, I am way ahead of the game with this litter.  Generally I do not even test until 7 weeks.

As you could see from the video, the pups are now in the living room.  I do not have them over in the pen by the dog door as yet.  They are to young to use the door and it is a touch drafty even when it is closed up.  We will move over in a week or so, once I get everything set up for their outdoor entertainment and safety.  I’m placing a net over the entire puppy pen to keep out all birds of prey.  A hawk was perched on my pool slide a few weeks ago.  That was the last straw.

Oh, and they are eating 3 ‘real’ meals a day and growing like weeds!!  I’m really really pleased with how they are maturing.  I do not think we will have any silvers, for those hoping for very light dogs.  I’ve been checking faces and feet.  Some might be blues, but none are showing much in the form of fading or light hairs on the paws.  I’ll know more when I shave some faces in a few days.
