Jazz and Tag puppies update

So last night was rough.  If you are on Facebook, you can skip down.  I’m going to post Chime’s story next, then follow it with a video of the rest of the litter.

Chime was very sick last night. At 3pm yesterday she had a round of watery diarrhea and vomiting. I rushed her to the vet and had them run everything. You can’t mess around with that combo. Parvo was neg, worms and coccidia both negative. The vet went ahead and gave me Albon just in case it was coccidia with the stool to watery to show up. I was sent home with fluids to give subcu, which we did every 6 hours. She was really weak, so I gave her goats milk with a syringe with Karo for extra blood sugar, and kept her warm. She only vomited the 2 times, but her diarrhea was really bad all night. I let her sleep in a box next to me on the couch so I could feed her every 2 hours and let her potty… because she absolutely wasn’t going to potty in her box and on her towel. This morning she decided she wanted to nurse and so I put her on Jazz. She is eating really well now and her poop is starting to firm up a bit. I’ve been able to leave her in the second pen and get some things done around the house. No fever, poop isn’t stinky, no discharge from eyes or nose. Possibly she ate something outside on the back patio when she was playing outside yesterday in the morning. I just spent the last hour sweeping the entire thing off and I plan to wash it down just in case. Other pups are doing good. Keep little Chime in your thoughts and prayers, though I think we are going to be fine. I can tell you she was eating up all the love and cuddle time she has received so far!!

The rest of the litter are doing wonderful.  Stools are ok, and everyone is playing and being cute.  I’m on a pretty tight schedule for the week, so I had to groom everyone but Chime today to stay on track.  I wasn’t going to risk Chime getting chilled, so she will wait for another day.  The babies are adorable, but for those hoping for silvers I think you are out of luck.  No silvery glow showed after the face shaving.  I have a sea of inky black babies.  Maybe in a week the blues will show up… but maybe not.  I know several of my homes with deposits do not want black… so there ‘might’ be a puppy available.  Just a heads up for those wishing they were getting a baby from this litter.

This was not exactly the blog post I had planned for today, but everyone needed to know about Chime and her health.  Some of the people following my blog are not on Facebook.  I like to make sure 99% of what I say in one media carries over to the other.
