Training Tips: Loading the Clicker / Attention Training

This is a two part video.  The first half is talking about the clicker, a little bit about why I use it, and how to ‘load’ a clicker with a new dog.  The second half of the video is about attention training.  Attention training is the second thing I work on, right after loading a clicker.  That is why I am making this one video instead of two.  Teach your dog what the clicker is, then teach the dog to look at you.  Otherwise, you will be beating your head against the wall later getting them to STOP looking at the clicker or your hands for treats.  Get the dog focused more on your face and you will have an easier time long term with all training and communication.

Hi Becky. I’m really looking forward to learning about the clicker. For some reason I’m getting the following error message when I try to view it:

404 Error File Not Found
The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
If you typed in the URL, please check the spelling
You can try to click the Back button and try another link

Any suggestions? Thank you so much for doing this!

Rachel

Need to change the link…it is showing as “.wm” and should be “.wmv” That’s why folks are getting the error.

Hi Becky,
I just want to thank you for the time and effort (and money) you are spending making these videos. They really make sense! The method of obtaining the desired result is clear, and I just want to thank you for making these. Thank you!
