Charlie – A Flash x Rain puppy update!

I just had an update on Charlie (litter name Radar) from our Flash x Rain litter!  He seems to be doing well, healthy and happy!  🙂  This is a very very short video of him taking this past summer.

Charlie (Flash and Rain 1/10/08) is an awesome dog. He was pretty excitable for the first two years. However, he’s 31/2 now and has really mellowed out. He is such a love bug! I/m sending a short clip of him; he had been rolling in the dead grass and hadn’t been groomed. He normally looks much better (below). We were celebrating July 4th – otherwise we don’t do scarves! He is quite small; I am not good at measuring, but approximately 20-21″ no taller than that. He is very graceful and loves to jump over the flower beds! He reminds me a lot of Flash the day I went to pick Charlie up.

He is very healthy. He recovered totally from the left front leg fx. He had one ear infection as a puppy (I think it was because I didn’t know what I was doing yet). No allergies; he has goopy eyes most days when he wakes up, but the vet has assured me that it’s not allergies or an infection. About a year ago, he developed a little skip in his back right leg. It was very subtle. We saw an orthopedic vet and he thought he had a gracilus muscle injury. It didn’t seem to bother him. We saw a neurologist and she couldn’t find anything wrong. However, we went to physical therapy for 5 sessions of ultrasound. That was in May. I wanted to make sure that nothing was really wrong. There was not a specific event that I recall in which he was injured. It was strange. I just took him into the orthopedic dr. again to make sure everything was ok. There was not any hamstring atrophy and he told me not to obsess anymore about it. My animals are my babies!!!

Charlie's favorite position on the couch!!

I am sure he has canine pica!!! He ate a glove and a sock in April and we had to make a trip to the emergency room in the night. He opens the doors by taking his paw and pushing down on the levers. I think I may have to change to round twist doorknobs. He is sometimes too smart for his own good:) But overall, he is so sweet and lies on the couch with me every night and watches TV.  ~~Kimberly Sexton
We love getting updates from our Poodle owners!  Thanks Kimberly for giving Charlie a wonderful home!
