Becky,

Just wanted to let you know Macie got both her UKC and ASCA Open Title today.  ASCA was this morning and UKC was this afternoon.

She really did a good job and if it hadn't been for handler errors she would have done a LOT better.  Sometimes I'm the one that make most of the errors!  Oh Well.

She now has her Open Title in all 3 venues we show in, AKC, UKC and ASCA.  YIPEE!!

On to the Utility Title!

Macie at 2.5 years of age

Macie is Sweet, Gentle, Loving.  She was not the most outgoing pup in the litter and approaches things with caution.

Macie was bred to INT/UKC Been CD for a litter in June 2005!
This was Macie's only litter and she is now spayed.

Two pups with health issues from this litter.  Sadie developed Addison Disease.
and Merlin developed Copper Storage Disease.

  1. TEMPERAMENT.  Medium, Loving, Mouthy, Very Willing to please.  Good retrieving drive. Pups would do well in show, working, and pet environments.  Careful of new environments, but warms quickly.  Very easy to live with, but has a higher drive than most elderly homes would want.  Willing to work for praise and attention only.

  2. CONFORMATION: Black with, excellent pigment.  Head is very nice, mid bone, fab movement.  Moderate Angles in the rear, overall balanced and perfectly square.  Tail set good, tho more curve than I like.  Narrow in the chest.

  3. SIZE: Mid size bitch at 24 inches.

  4. HEALTH: PennHip shows Macie in the top 10% for her breed!  A very very good score.  SA test normal, Bloodtest for Addison's was negative, Thyroid normal, CERF normal.

  5. COLOR: Macie is genetically a blue, but still very black at 2 years of age.  She is out of a Silver and sired by a Cream/White.  She can produce Blacks, Blues, Silvers, Creams, and Whites.

Past News for Macie:

Oct 13, 2008

YaHOO!!!!  Macie got her Open Title this past weekend at the Boise shows!  What a relief   Her scores weren't great since she has a tendency to go up to the jumps, look at them, THEN jump over!  Big no, no.  Although she had the crowd holding their breath!

The day she got her title she walked up to the broad jump (48 in), looked at it, then jumped.  It was the last exercise and the crowd burst into laughter and applause.  The judge said to me "does she ever give you heart failure?"

Anyway, regardless of how "ugly" it was, she is now officially... UCD Anutta New Years Resolution, CDX, RAE, ASCA CD, CGC !!

Hi Becky!

Hope everything is well with you and your family.

Just wanted to give you a quick update about Macie.  On July 26th 2008, Macie got her first Open leg in ASCA.  Next week she will again be shown in ASCA.

This weekend 8/15-8/17/08 Macie and I showed at the Idaho Falls Show and Macie completed two legs of her AKC Open!   On Friday, we tied with another dog and had to do a run off.  Macie ended up with the 3rd place instead of second with a 186.5.  Saturday, we were not so fortunate and NQ'd.  Today (Suday) we again tied for 2nd and this time we won the run off with a 190.5!  So all in all we had a great weekend with 2 legs towards Macie's Open Title.

There were a total of 9 dogs in Open A each day.  The winning dog was a Labrador, Lincoln (all three days).  He had a 199.5 on Friday, 197 on Saturday and Sunday, a 196.5; also winning High in Trial all 3 days!

Hopefully, we will complete our Open title at the September show here in Utah.

Best Regards,

Sherrie and Macie, (UKC-CD, CD, RAE, CGC, ASCA-CD)

OCT 2007 Macie update from Sherrie!

Becky,
Just wanted to let you know that Macie and I are now a part of Intermountain Therapy Animals!  Yesterday I attended a day long seminar and today, 10/21/07, Macie and I passed our evaluation test.

As you know from the article I wrote about Macie and me, When I first got her, I wanted to go into Therapy with her.  At the time, we were told we didn't qualify because we hadn't been together the appropriate amount of time.  Well, I decided it was time to go ahead and try for our qualification!  It's something I truly believe Macie was meant to do.

We passed with flying colors and sometime in the near future we will be going in for an orientation and then begin our new duties as Therapy Partners!

I'm very excited and just wanted to let you know again, what a very special girl Macie is.

Yeah!  Macie got her RE today (March 25th, 2007) at the Golden Spike show in Farmington, Utah.  She did a great job! Her handler (me) however, wasn't so great.  Almost everything we had points taken off for were for errors I made.

Everytime we go to a show now, she gets so excited.  She just prances around and has a smile on her face!
We both had a great time and that's the name of the game!

Becky,

YaHoo!  Macie got her 5th title today (Oct 28th 2006)!  Her UKC CD.  She was great, with a 192 1/2 this morning and this afternoon, a 190.
So, I guess now the focus will be on working towards that Open Title.  We aspire to greater things....!
As you can clearly tell, we had a great day.  Above all, Macie had FUN.  Once again, I'm very lucky to have such a great girl.
Thanks for crossing the fingers and paws...
Sherrie and Macie
