Here is a little information about MR Thunder
Thunder is a very big puppy
and the only reason I still have him. Everyone who was on my waiting list for
this litter wanted a smaller standard and I told them that I have no idea
about Thunder. He's such a big boy that he might end up as big as his
granddad Merlot or not much bigger than Flash! If size isn't an issue for you
and you don't mind if he ends up small, medium, or large Thunder might be the
dog for your home.
Thunder is a sweet and laid back boy. He scored middle of the road on his
temperament test. He has a low chase drive so will be easier to train to be
off leash than his littermates and will be less likely to chase running kids.
He is smart and has learned to sleep through the night in his crate, stay
nicely in the house on his tether while I do emails (See photos below), and
settle when I hold him (I won't let him off my lap without being super calm).
He also knows sit and down we are working on wait. His leash training
is coming along nicely. He is a super traveler, no carsickness here!
He has traveled from AZ to CO, then made the trip from CO to Arkansas and back
with no issues at all, no accidents in his crate, etc. He would simply cry to
let me know when he woke up from his nap and needed a potty/play break. He
always cried a bit when he was made to go in the crate a first, but would
settle for the drive within 30 mins. He's very food motivated so I can
redirect him with a treat and a toy when he picks up something he shouldn't
have. I shaved his face again on Monday and what a good boy he was. Simple
praise was all that i needed to keep him calm and willing. He's good in a
bath and for blow drying.
I believe he will make a great pet or beginner working dog. He is not as high
drive has his other littermates and will be happy to lay on the couch and not
need a job all the time. He is not shy at all, but he is a little independent
at times so I have been working with him on come and follow off leash a lot
here on our 5 acres. He's really doing well, thank goodness for love of
treats! He loves other dogs but could go to a home without them with no
issue. I believe he would be good with cats as well since he chase drive
is rather low.
That's it for our Thunder boy. I think he's going to be a Dark blue since his
face was showing a little fading at 12 weeks. His adoption fee is 1600.00s.
