If you haven’t heard, AKC has done a wonderful thing for everyone stuck at home due to Covid-19 risk. They are now offering video titles for both trick dog and rally-o novice. This is great news, because the entire show season was going to be a wash for our program, but now there are some options.
- Mabel and Duchess are both in guardian homes in Northwest Arkansas. Courtney, who has been a guardian mom for us since the beginning, needs one rally novice leg for Mabel. Diana, friends with Courtney and joined our Poodle family about 10 years ago with Zelda, planned to start showing Duchess this spring / summer. Now both of these girls won’t sit out the season! Diane sent me a video of her and Duchess doing one of the Rally Novice courses. I’m really pleased with their teamwork. Duchess’ heeling is great for such a young girl. I think they have a great future in the performance ring!
AKC Rally-o Virutal Program
AKC is offering competitors the ability to set up 5 different courses with specific instructions on video camera placement and how large of a space is needed. As you can see from the video above, Diane and Courtney selected a baseball field. Any open space will work. Follow the link for specific AKC guidelines.
AKC Trick Dog Program updated rules.
All Canine Good Citizen evaluators can now do distance titling for the AKC trick dog program! If you are on Facebook, there are many trick groups you can join which have eager evaluators ready to view your trick video. If you are not on Facebook, please drop me a line and I can give you several personal friends who would happily evaluate your dog for a new title. Here is the link to AKC’s announcement.
