Hello everyone,

I want to thank all of you who gave me a week to mourn the loss of my mother.  It was and still is a difficult time for my family.  Only one person felt their own needs outweighed mine, but thankfully I have some amazing friends who stepped in to help me out when I couldn’t drive across country and deal with the situation in person.

On a lighter subject, we are one week out from Jazz’s due date!  I’m hoping Jazz delivers this weekend, but it could be next week.  She wasn’t a nester with her last litter, so I don’t expect her to be with this one either.  I’m going to watch for a temp drop so I can be a bit better prepared in case we go from zero to full throttle in a few hours time.  The spare room is ready to go.  Here is a video showing the new setup.

Now we wait.  I stopped contacting folks on my waiting list with applications, because I have so many previous homes interested.  Right now I need to know sex before moving forward.  Many of the homes interested in this litter are seeking females only, so if we do not have a good number of girls, I can move down more of my applications.   Here is the list of previous Anutta owners hoping for a puppy from this litter.

  1. Kerry TX – Female ONLY – co-ownership
  2. Me – Female ONLY
  3. Alison TX – Male foster or pet
  4. Jan in PA – Female ONLY
  5. Mary in CO – Female ONLY
  6. Summer in AK – Either, male preferred.
  7. Pam in AL – Either
  8. Stacy in AL – Male

Again, this doesn’t count any of the new applicants hoping for a puppy.  Don’t give up hope, but be aware of the current outlook.  One week and we will know where we stand for the next year.  I’m blessed to have so many dedicated puppy owners who come back to me time and time again for dogs.  I adore you awesome folks.  Still, unless I start having more litters it does make it difficult for new people to break into my network.  I previously offered a discount for repeat owners, but I had to change when the number of homes started outweighing the new folks.  Now I give them priority over all new applications until the pups are born and the list is firmed up.  At that point if you are on the list for a puppy you cannot be bumped for any reason, and you will move up the list if someone drops out (which happens).  I know I run things a bit different from other breeders.  Everyone wants to send me deposits, and I have to continuously explain deposits are not taken prior to birth.  The deposits will firm up the list, but how can I firm up the list before birth with such specific request?  I can’t see holding on to someone’s money for a big ‘maybe’.  I have far to few litters for that game and way more demand than babies available.

So, this is where we stand.  Now we wait and see what Tag and Jazz have created for us.  I’m thinking we will have some amazing beauties soon.

OH, again, in case you missed it… I’m not docking tails on this litter.  The sire has a full tail and I am in LOVE with that dog.  You need to be totally OK with the concept of a long tail before jumping on to this wagon.  For more information on this litter, the parents, what we are hoping to get please visit this blog post Tag and Jazz have bred!
