Life With Poodles

UKC Show News!

This past weekend I attended my first UKC Conformation shows in months.  They have them fairly often in Hutto, Texas, but it has been one thing or another all summer keeping me from the shows.  This weekend the stars alined.  Keith was not on call.  No dogs or humans were sick.  Heather and Quincy had the time to come up and join us at the show.  I didn’t have puppies keeping me home.  My scissors were so dull they wouldn’t cut butter, but I muddled out a groom job on Jazz with the curved sheers.  It wasn’t beautiful but it was passable.

We arrived at the show to a horde of Poodles in both Solid and Parti colors.  It was so nice to see such a great turn out.  I think I counted 14 Standard Poodles at this show!  I love meeting new people and I have to tell you these gals were all such fun and super laid back.  There were some cute baby Parti pups who came to socialize and show in the puppy match.  What could be better than cuddling a 12 week old poodle baby or two!!  I get my puppy fix without the sleepless nights and potty training.  Win Win.

On to the show results.

Show One on Saturday: Quincy won Best Male.  Jazz won her class (Juniors), but another pretty little black bitch in the Senior class took Best Female and Best of Winners, and Best of Breed.

Show Two on Saturday: Quincy was Best Male, Best of Winners, Best of Breed, and a group 4!  Jazz again won her class, but the same black girl took Best Female in that show.

Show One on Sunday: Quincy was Best Male.  Jazz hit her stride and showed really well.  She took Best Female, Best of Winners, Best of Breed, and a Group 4.

Show Two on Sunday: Quincy was again Best Male.  Jazz was again Best Female, Best of Winners, Best of Breed, but did not place in the group.
If I have counted my points and wins up correctly, both Jazz and Quincy are unofficial UKC Champions!  Now we just wait for the certificates and get ready to hit the performance rings hard! Jazz is ready for her CGC and TDI testing, ready to start Rally, and I hope to get her in an agility class very soon.

Quincy (UKC CH Anutta Commander and Chief CGC ) He is owned by myself and Heather McQuidy.  Always handled by Heather.

Jazz (UKC CH Tintlet Rhapsody in Blue) was bred and co-owned by Gloria Ogdahl of Tintlet Poodles

I did snap one photo with my phone.  For some reason my brain couldn’t remember to grab the real camera.
