We are outdoory people.  Keith and I are avid hikers, we love camping, and I was on a canine Search and Rescue team for 3 years.  We have owned horses, and I grew up on a mini farm with every animal imaginable.  Because of this, we find ourselves outside while others are parked in front of the TV, even in 100 degree heat.  Earlier this week the weather was pretty nice.  No humidity with temps in the low 90s.  I thought we were seeing a break in the heat.  I was wrong.  In spite of the abysmal weather topping out at 105 for the last few days, we try to do something outside each evening.  Tonight was special.  Tonight was “decorate Jazz” night.

We have one tree in the front of our yard, a mid size Crape Myrtle.  The last few weeks, with the slightly lower temperatures and regular water the Crape caught its second wind and is in full bloom.  I haven’t been very diligent in cutting the lower limbs back, and this evening the children found a new use for those low hanging flowers.

Tell me I don’t have a great dog!
