Life With Poodles

Mocha has a new home!

After much thought, I have finally decided on a home for Mocha.  It was not easy, there were many good applications, but only one had everything I wanted in one package.  I wanted a home that didn’t work long hours (at least not every family member working full time).  I also wanted a home which had other dogs to give her company and had dog training background.  Mocha is not your run of the mill poodle.  She is very creative and gets bored easily.  Most Poodles are extreme rule followers, where is Mocha feels there is room for interpretation in everything.  She can open doors, open gates, is very oral, and has an engaged mind.  She needs a home who can teach her new things and keep her stimulated, yet not a home looking to do high end sports.  I found a home here in TX and I am so excited for everyone!  I believe they are a perfect match.  Lisa Cooper and her family will adopt Mocha this weekend.  They requested I groom her as I did in her first “Shave Down” photos, so she is now sporting a lovely Bikini cut.  We will absolutely miss this crazy smart girl, but know she is going to the best home we could find for her silly self!

The email I received from Lisa after sending her the OK for adoption.

I saw your email today while at work. My heart leaped hearing she will come home with me next Sunday. I am so happy with your decision. I can not wait to share so many years with her. I look forward to being her forever confidant, friend, mom, and home. She is my perfect match. I knew it when I left, but held those feelings to myself as to not let anyone know i would be so disappointed if she was not coming to me. Julia knew because she knows me so well, was with me, but I kept it in. Wow. My baby is coming home next week. Our bonding time, I look forward to. I only wish she just knew immediately that we will never part. She is safe and finally home.
Thanks Becky. Please give her a hug and kiss for me and tell her I’m thinking of her and hope she is feeling better soon. This next week is going to be one of the longest, waiting to see her again.
Thanks, ~Lisa Cooper

Lisa is a volunteer for Patriot Paws.  Please watch this video and see what this program is all about.  Someday when we retire from the military I would love to train service dogs for veterans.  Until then, maybe you will see some of Anutta’s future pups donated to Patriot Paws… 🙂
